Meet Us Monday: Jennifer

A Richmond native, Jennifer grew up in her grandparents’ home and faced the challenges of Substance Use Disorder and incarceration from an early age.

Her journey with REAL LIFE began years ago, back when the program was still REAL and only inside the jails. As a REAL LIFE graduate, Jennifer says “REAL LIFE saved me. Not just once—every time I came back. They didn’t give up on me.”

As a Life Coach with Project SAF, Jennifer supports young adult women during some of their most vulnerable moments. A mother of three herself, she shares that working with these young women often feels like speaking to her younger self—a full-circle moment in her journey.

When asked about her future, Jennifer shared this powerful reflection: “I’m not where I want to be yet. But I’m not where I was—and that’s something.” She added, “I want to build something that lasts. Even if it’s small, it’s mine.”
