Meet Us Monday: Danielle, Recovery Navigator

Danielle grew up in Delaware and spent about 25 years working in her family’s restaurant business. In her early 30s, she began struggling with substance use disorder (SUD) after being prescribed pain medication following surgery. Her journey eventually brought her to Virginia for treatment.

Now more than a year into her recovery journey, Danielle recently graduated from a local program and earned her Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) certification. Wanting to use her own experience to help others, she applied to Recovery Corps and found her way to REAL LIFE!

Danielle is also attending Reynolds Community College and working toward becoming a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, while continuing to rebuild relationships with friends and family.
