Meet Us Monday: Marvin, Project SAF Life Coach

Posted: June 10, 2024 | Author: Real Life Staff
Born in Richmond, VA, when Marvin was a young adult, he says that he connected with the wrong crowd. He was incarcerated at a young age for decisions made when he was young. After making parole and doing well in the community, he was hired by REAL LIFE as a Life Coach for our expanding program, Project SAF.

While in prison, Marvin completed a few dozen addiction and behavior modification modules and even wrote a few of his own. He also used his time to get an education as a paralegal. “One thing that I learned in prison is that life is really all about service and giving back,” Marvin says.

His family, including his fiancé and children, is very important to him. He is looking forward to marrying his fiance and spending more time with his children. Marvin is also excited about his new position with REAL LIFE and his platform to speak against gun violence. Marvin says, “I try to share with them what I’ve learned since I’ve been in prison, and hopefully it will resonate with them to the point where they see something in my story and they might want to change their life.” Welcome to the team, Marvin!
