The chapel of 2nd Presbyterian Church filled with applause and shouts of joy on October 18th as the names of a (REAL LIFE) record of 31 graduates were called. The energy was powerful and filled with admiration of goals accomplished and obstacles overcome. The pews were lined with friends, family members, attorneys, and probation officers.
Dr. Sarah Scarbrough welcomed graduates, loved ones, staff, and guest speaker Mark Earley, who spoke of faithfulness in the reliable skills graduates have learned here. Donyel and Jasmine shared their reflections on graduation, while Matt read poetry representing his journey.
Pathway Navigators sent graduates into the world with words of wisdom: Tauchanna shared “Be Bold. You are an example. Walk like you are fearless, put boldness into someone else’s life.” “You’ve got a right to be just as good as you were bad… don’t allow anyone to pass judgment on you.” said Marlon.
The evening closed with a performance by Pathway Navigators Young and Maurice which highlighted the hope that REAL LIFE ignites in the city. We are so proud of the way these 31 Lifers have transformed their lives. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish next!
