Research has shown the highest likelihood for continued sobriety comes after five years. REAL LIFE’s Alumni Program is a place where we continue to provide support to our graduates for the years after they graduate and then after they leave REAL LIFE Housing. Graduates have their own curriculum Real Life with REAL LIFE 2, the next step for those working through their recovery. In addition to the curriculum, we have a new program: Continue Thriving After Graduation. This is where graduates engage at a higher level to continue their recovery journey, attend various meetings, share how they practice their recovery after REAL LIFE, attend alumni only events, all working toward elevating from a REAL LIFE Graduate to REAL LIFE Alumni. This then qualifies them to receive a customized real life alumni letterman jacket and be recognized at our formal alumni dinner, where we celebrate both new and returning alumni. In addition to this support network, we focus on offering more in person engagement for graduates of the program. Including our now beloved (and pretty competitive) Alumni vs Lifer softball game, Recovery Field Days, In person Alumni Meet Ups and their very own Formal Alumni Dinner. REAL LIFE looks forward to continuing to be a place where folks connect with others, find support, utilize resources and build their recovery network.
