REAL LIFE at Department of Corrections Reentry Summit

Project SAF Life Coach Marvin and our newest team member, Tavoris, joined other formerly incarcerated and justice-involved individuals for a fireside chat, sharing their experiences and perspectives with VADOC team members from across Virginia.

“After spending 37 years in prison, anytime I can share how my life was altered by the choices I made, and how I was given a second chance to now save lives, it’s a moment I can’t pass up,” Marvin shared. “Being able to share my experience with Department of Corrections staff from across Virginia was very meaningful to me.”

We appreciate VADOC for making space for voices and lived experiences like Marvin’s and Tavoris’ to be part of these important conversations.
