Meet Tonia—REAL LIFE’s newest Pathway Navigator!
Originally from New York state, Tonia joined the U.S. Navy following high school graduation. She received her Bachelor’s in Social Psychology. After she left the Navy, she received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Texas A&M. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in education from Liberty University.
Prior to joining REAL LIFE, Tonia worked as a school counselor, a program coordinator for a Boys and Girls Club, and as a counselor in the community college system. While at the community college system, she focused on working with veterans and incarcerated persons preparing for reentry to society.
Tonia says she enjoys working with Lifers “by building their confidence in themselves and their future. I get to help them understand that second chances will come with challenges, but if they develop problem solving skills and a new mindset they are capable and able to succeed.”
