Meet Us Monday: Michael, Domestic Violence Prevention Coach

For this #MeetUsMonday, we’re introducing you to Michael Pinto, a Domestic Violence Prevention Coach! Michael conducts classes tailored for men who have been perpetrators of domestic or intimate partner violence at REAL LIFE, Henrico Jail East and Chesterfield County Jail. He dedicates his time and expertise to educate individuals on how to prevent domestic violence and foster healthy relationships.
Through his work, Michael equips Lifers with the necessary tools, support, and resources to identify and address abusive behavior, develop skills for healthy relationships, and create safe environments.
A graduate of REAL LIFE, Michael’s personal journey has shaped his passion for helping those affected by domestic violence. As a child, he witnessed his mother enduring an abusive relationship, which ignited his desire to make a difference in this field.
During his free time, Michael engages in practices such as Siddha and Hatha yoga. He also enjoys working out and participates in challenging races like the upcoming Rugged Maniac obstacle course in Petersburg, Virginia on October 7. One of Michael’s cherished quotes is, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
Through his professionalism and dedication, Michael strives to create a society where domestic violence is prevented, and healthy relationships thrive.
