Meet Us Monday: Melissa, 4 Facts and a Fib Edition

This week, we are highlighting Melissa, a REAL LIFE Pathway Navigator. She is a graduate of the REAL LIFE program, a member of the Alumni program, and now serves others using her lived experience.

She recently completed her Behavioral Health Technician Certification, Human Services Technician Certification, and her Associate of Applied Science in Human Services.

(1) Growing up, she was raised by a Filipino family where rice for breakfast was just part of everyday life.

(2) She once went hiking, zip lining, and sliding down rock waterfalls in the Dominican Republic.

(3) She joined a gym and attends regularly with other friends in recovery.

(4) Today, she facilitates groups for women at the same jail where she was previously incarcerated.

(5) She has almost 7 years in recovery from Substance Use Disorder.
