Meet Us Monday: Bon Secours

Sarah, Founder and Director of REAL LIFE, says, “The Minor Family Award was created to recognize individuals and organizations whose leadership, compassion, and dedication create lasting, transformative impact within our community. Bon Secours so powerfully embodies that spirit.”

Loretta, a Community Health Worker with the Bon Secours Hospital Violence Intervention Program (HVIP), says, “Our partnership serves as a right hand and a left hand, working together to provide the needed services and support the patients’ needs in the moment.”

Loretta also shares how this collaboration helps create safer communities: “In the Community Violence Intervention realm, we try to discourage patients from a high-risk lifestyle, and you can’t ask them to put down a gun without offering them an alternative. Project SAF (Safe, Alive, and Free) does exactly that, showing the community that they do have other choices.”

Through HVIP, Loretta and the Bon Secours team work every day to connect patients with the resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to break cycles of violence. They also partner with Project SAF for peace walks and other community activities that strengthen connections and promote safety.

Looking ahead, Loretta adds, “I am especially excited about the positive community impact that REAL LIFE Industries will provide!”
