Maurice Washington Violence Prevention Program Coordinator Maurice Washington, our Violence Prevention Program Coordinator, works with people at risk of gun violence to connect them to different resources aimed at reducing community violence. He coordinates REAL LIFE’s violence reduction efforts in Hopewell to ensure that everyone is connected and able to work together to prevent gun violence. Maurice is a proud graduate of REAL LIFE, where he became the Peer House Leader after graduating from the program. Shortly thereafter, he was hired through the AmeriCorps program, where he was a Recovery Coach. After a year of service through AmeriCorps, he was hired full time as Pathway Navigator; months later he transitioned into the role he is in today.
