Kristen Reiser Director of Development and Community Engagement Kristen Johnson Reiser plans, organizes, and directs REAL LIFE’s fundraising efforts including major gifts program, annual fund, grants, special events, social media appeals, and campaigns. She develops our marketing materials and manages our social media content. Kristen also manages a robust volunteer program, including individual volunteer opportunities as well as corporate and group volunteer opportunities. Originally from Leesburg, Virginia, Kristen graduated from William and Mary in 2004, where she received her B.A. in Public Policy with Honors. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2007 where she received the Public Interest Law Association Pro Bono Award and was active with the Journal for Law and Public Interest. After working as a magistrate for seven years, she realized her true passion was in the nonprofit sector and began volunteering with CancerLINC. After making her career switch, Kristen worked for the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education and the Virginia Home for Boys and Girls, before joining the REAL LIFE team. An active member of the Junior League of Richmond, Kristen currently serves as the President. In 2020, she was recognized as one of Style Weekly’s Top 40 Under 40. In her spare time, she loves cheering on the Washington Capitals and Nationals. An aspiring powerlifter, she also enjoys building Legos, reading, and photography. She currently resides in Richmond with her husband, Myke, and their two cats, Marauder and Wilson.
