Julie Herzog is a board member of REAL LIFE who brings more than two decades of experience in education and student support. She began her career as a teacher and has worked in both general and special education roles, supporting students with diverse academic and behavioral needs.

Julie currently works at a Richmond private school in admissions, where she works closely with families as they navigate school placement, including providing campus tours and resources. Her professional background also includes experience in professional development and coaching.

Julie’s connection to REAL LIFE began through her husband’s work and deepened through volunteering and witnessing the organization’s impact firsthand. She joined the Board because she was drawn to REAL LIFE’s commitment to compassionate second chances, recovery housing, violence prevention, and the value of lived experience.

Julie lives in Richmond with her husband and two children.
