Elaine Minor

Elaine is a dedicated board member and former Board Chair of REAL LIFE who brings extensive expertise in youth engagement and trauma-informed care.  As a Program Manager with the Richmond Police Department, Elaine works to support Richmond youth through accountability, advocacy, and compassion. Elaine believes strongly in the power of connection and representation, striving to ensure that both clients and officers see one another through a human, empathetic lens.

Elaine holds a master’s degree in school counseling and has built a career centered on healing and community support. Her professional background includes roles with Richmond Public Schools and local nonprofits, where her commitment to helping individuals and families navigate loss and trauma first connected her with REAL LIFE founder Sarah Scarbrough. Since joining REAL LIFE, Elaine has played a vital role in strengthening relationships between clients, local youth, and law enforcement—creating spaces that foster understanding, trust, and growth.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Elaine enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and staying active.
