The REAL LIFE Motherhood program combines our traditional programming for all Lifers with initiatives specifically for new mothers. In addition to the holistic case management services we provide all of our Lifers, we ensure our Motherhood Lifers have the support to thrive as a parent. The relationship between a Pathway Navigator and Motherhood Lifer allows for delivery of services and programs that help moms overcome their unique personal and community barriers that hinder the pathway to a thriving life. Having their Pathway Navigator to walk beside them during pregnancy and post-partum is critical, and makes the difference between relapse or sobriety for many of our women, particularly when they have been through significant trauma related to motherhood previously.
The individualized personal plan developed for each Motherhood Lifer addresses her positive and negative recovery capital, as well as barriers to recovery and unmet service needs. Their personal plan encompasses groups, classes, services, counseling and medical care based on their needs. Classes and programming include motherhood, early childhood development, parenting, budgeting and personal finance, healthy relationships, life skills, and more.
To break the cycle of childhood poverty, we provide our Motherhood Lifers with the knowledge and skills to obtain and maintain employment. Through the Employment Pathways Program, they find meaningful employment that provides lasting stability and financial security for the entire family.
