Melissa Trinidad-Tyler Pathway Navigator Melissa’s journey with REAL LIFE began through the WAITT program at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail. After years of substance use and incarceration, she made the life-changing decision to pursue a new path. Upon completing the WAITT program and reentering the community, she joined REAL LIFE, where she successfully completed the program and embraced a fresh start. Her commitment to growth led her to serve with REAL LIFE AmeriCorps before transitioning into the role of Education Navigator. As a proud REAL LIFE graduate, Melissa serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and transformation, proving that success is within reach for others on the same journey. She recently earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Human Services/Counseling from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. Now, as a Pathway Navigator, she works with male clients upon their arrival at REAL LIFE, conducting intakes and helping them overcome barriers as they progress through the program. Melissa is married to Steven, and together they share a home with their four children.
