Project SAF and Community Resilience on the Move in 2026

Posted: February 18, 2026 | Author: Real Life Staff
Project SAF (Safe, Alive, and Free) and our Community Resilience team have been on the move in 2026.

They kicked off the year with a return peace walk in Petersburg, where Life Coaches DeShawn and Demetrius reconnected with familiar faces while also meeting new community members for the first time. The team then joined the Crater District Virginia Department of Health for pop-up wellness events, starting at the monthly food distribution at Pin Oaks, a space where residents gather for groceries, conversation, and connection. Project SAF was there alongside trusted partners, sharing resources and answering questions.

Outreach continued with a booth at an event in a new housing development to help ensure residents know what support is available close to home. The team also made first visits to Cavalier II Apartments and Walnut Hill. At Cavalier II, they connected with 66 new addresses during their walk, while at Walnut Hill they again worked with VDH to share support and services with families across the neighborhood.

We are proud of the Project SAF and Community Resilience team for consistently showing up, building trust, strengthening connections, and making sure communities know they are not alone.
