Breaking Cycles: REAL LIFE’s Work During Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Posted: October 28, 2025 | Author: Real Life Staff
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and at REAL LIFE, this issue is very close to the heart of our mission.
Domestic violence is often a generational cycle. Many we serve in our recovery housing and jail programs are survivors, and we work to help them build safe, stable, violence-free futures.
But we also address the other side of abuse. Through our Real Talk with REAL LIFE program, offered in our recovery program, the community, and in 2 prisons and 5 jails, we work with men who have previously caused harm as they take responsibility, learn new skills, and break patterns of abuse.
These conversations aren’t easy, but they change lives. This month, we honor survivors and also recognize the quiet, powerful transformation happening among those choosing to do better.
