Jackie Shornak

Vice Chair

Jackie S. serves on the REAL LIFE Board of Directors and brings a lifetime of leadership and community service to her role. A proud Hopewell resident, she has dedicated her life to strengthening her community through organizations such as Rebuilding Together Richmond, Southside Family Connections, and the Hopewell Police Chief’s Advisory Board.

Professionally, Jackie spent 35 years as a paralegal and more than eight years on Hopewell City Council, including two years as Mayor. Known to many local students as “Madame Butterfly,” she has taught the life cycle of butterflies to more than 1,000 children.

Jackie’s passion for REAL LIFE was sparked after the tragic loss of a child to gun violence in Hopewell, motivating her to take action through peace walks, outreach, and violence prevention efforts. Her compassion, faith, and lifelong commitment to service make her an invaluable member of the REAL LIFE Board.
