Strengthening Employment Pathways with Community Foundation Support

The Community Foundation for a greater Richmond recently announced over $5 million in grants for 125 community partners – including REAL LIFE! This generous grant supports our Employment Pathways Program, a central part of the REAL LIFE mission.

REAL LIFE Founder and Director, Dr. Sarah Scarbrough shares: “Our Employment Program is one of the cornerstones of what we do and a critical part of helping our Lifers succeed. Because our program requires Lifers to work and aims to set them on the path toward financial stability and freedom, it’s essential that it thrives. But we can’t do it alone. We’re deeply grateful to the Community Foundation for their long-term commitment and generous support, which has been instrumental in keeping this program running strong.”

Sydney, our Senior Employment Navigator, adds: “One of the best parts of my job is seeing the moment a Lifer realizes, ‘I can do this.’ That spark wouldn’t be possible without the support we receive from the Community Foundation. They’re not just funding a program—they’re investing in real people and real change.”
