Meet Us Monday: Julie D., REAL LIFE Board of Directors

After learning about REAL LIFE through mutual connections, she knew she had found her place. “I believe in second chances. People can break the cycle and change their lives with the right support. REAL LIFE doesn’t just provide a place to live after incarceration. I really believe in the mission and vision of REAL LIFE: giving people the opportunity to help themselves by providing wraparound services.”

Julie was drawn to the organization’s hands-on approach and the tangible impact it has on people’s lives. “With REAL LIFE it is so easy to see the impact that it’s making on people. REAL LIFE gives people the opportunity to invest in themselves in a way that they’ve probably never been able to before.”

Her professional background also deepened her connection to the mission. “Working in healthcare, I see firsthand how social determinants of health—like housing and employment—impact well-being. REAL LIFE understands that stable housing and a support network are crucial for long-term success.”
