Workforce Wednesday: The Market at 25th

For this Workforce Wednesday, we did a Q & A with Jae, the Chief Operating Officer of the Market at 25th Street. See what he has to say about their partnership with REAL LIFE!

Why did you decide to partner with REAL LIFE? 

REAL LIFE has Lifers that are looking to re-enter the workforce and The Market @ 25th needed good help. Norm Gold, the Developer and previous Chief of Operations, made the initial connection with REAL LIFE and over time we’ve fostered that relationship.

What has that experience been like for you and your company? 

We have grown tremendously with REAL LIFE as a partner, including holiday food boxes, hiring Lifers to help us build a strong store team, and volunteering for community events that we’ve sponsored in our parking lot. It’s a perfect example of companies and organizations coming together to make our community better for everyone in it.

Why do you continue this partnership? 

Our goal is to show others that within our community that the path to affecting positive change is done together. Meaning, businesses that care, like The Market 25th, need to partner with organizations like REAL LIFE that do good work in the community. It becomes a symbiotic relationship that allows growth for not just both parties, but for the neighborhood itself.

How have you found your workers from REAL LIFE to perform on the job? 

Our Lifer Team Members are some of the most valuable shining stars on our staff, with a dedication stronger than the average new hire. Like Patricia, who shows the type of work ethic that has made her contributions to our staff irreplaceable, or Flora, who propelled herself to Assistant Customer Service Manager.
