REAL LIFE Attends Gun Violence Awareness Event
Posted: June 8, 2025 | Author: Real Life Staff
Our Project SAF team was on the ground at events in Fairfield Court, Mosby Court, and Hopewell, connecting with neighbors, sharing resources, and sparking meaningful conversations around healing and prevention.
In Richmond, we were honored to be part of the 2nd Annual Local Day Out, organized by the Richmond Chapter of the @naacprva, with events in over a dozen neighborhoods citywide. We were grateful to stand alongside our partners at the Richmond Police Department, Mayor Avula, and so many others working to end gun violence.
In Hopewell, we were glad to join a powerful local gathering alongside Hopewell Public Schools, the Hopewell Police Department, and dedicated community members coming together to make a difference.
REAL LIFE Project SAF Lead Life Coach Maurice shared: “It’s so important to have events like this so that we are able to plant seeds and have discussions about the issues around gun violence.”
Mike M., Violence Prevention Initiative Coordinator, added: “Events like these are helpful to connect with members of the community. This gives us the chance to face hard truths about gun violence and build a safer future for everyone.”
Community violence reduction starts with those who stand up together!
