June is dedicated to raising awareness around men’s mental health. It’s a time to acknowledge the unique challenges men face and to encourage open conversations.
Recently, our Violence Prevention Coordinator, Maurice, shared a personal story about his friend Cory. “Cory took his life after a long battle with depression,” Maurice shared. “He was the type of person who would give you whatever you needed and was always there when you needed him.”
By speaking out, Maurice hopes to reduce stigma and increase understanding. “This is a great time to shed light on the importance of community and awareness,” he said. He encourages anyone who is struggling with their mental health, not to wait, but to reach out for support now.
