Meet Us Monday: Kruz, Peer House Leader

This week’s Meet Us Monday features one of our newest Peer House Leaders, Kruz. Born in Charlottesville and raised in Greene County, Kruz spent his childhood with his grandparents. During high school, he was an avid athlete, especially excelling in football.

After graduating, Kruz spent much of his 20s in restaurant service and partying, which eventually led to his introduction to drugs. By his 30s, he found himself caught in a cycle of incarceration due to drug-related charges. Realizing he needed a fresh start, Kruz turned to his cousin, who introduced him to REAL LIFE.

Since joining the program, Kruz has embraced the structure and guidance it offers, making big strides in his journey of transformation. “REAL LIFE has made me a better person,” Kruz shares. “It’s opened my eyes to see things differently and has helped me grow so much!”

We’re proud to have Kruz as part of the REAL LIFE family and can’t wait to see all he accomplishes!
