Meet Us Monday: Tanya, Board Member

Tanya currently serves as the Manager of Community Relations at CarMax, where she strengthens connections between the company and the community. But her commitment to service extends far beyond her professional life. Tanya is deeply passionate about giving back. “I believe that true leadership is about serving those around you,” she shares. “Whether it’s through volunteer initiatives, community engagement, or supporting colleagues in their professional growth.”

She first discovered REAL LIFE through a friendship with Sarah Scarbrough, Founder and Director of REAL LIFE. When Sarah asked Tanya to join the board in 2021, Tanya was thrilled because she was familiar with the program and loved REAL LIFE’s goals and accomplishments. “REAL LIFE embodies the essence of servant leadership and community empowerment,” Tanya says. “It demonstrates that when we invest in the well-being of individuals, we create ripple effects that benefit the entire community.”
