Celebrating Transformation: 27 Lifers Begin Their New Chapter

After over six months of dedication, perseverance, and hard work, 27 Lifers have successfully started their sobriety journey and completed the REAL LIFE program! These incredible individuals have overcome challenges, embraced change, and built a foundation for a brighter future.

Four graduates shared their stories, including Graduate and Peer House Leader Steven B., who spoke at the ceremony, saying: “For ten years, I was in and out of jail with charges related to my addiction. I saw others leave jail only to end up right back inside. I made a promise to myself that I was going to change my life and never come back.”

To new Lifers, Steven offers this advice: “By putting your heart and soul into the program, your life can change as positively as mine has.”

To top off an already incredible night, Groovespot, a disco funk band featuring some of our very own REAL LIFE staff, took the stage! Young, a Senior Pathway Navigator, held it down on the drums, while Melissa, a Pathway Navigator, was on vocals. They brought the house down with covers of “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire and “Celebration” by Kool & The Gang.
