Meet Us Monday: Jordan, Peer House Leader

Today, we are introducing Peer House Leader Jordan! Originally from Ferrum, VA, Jordan came to REAL LIFE in 2024 after losing her partner and struggling with substance use. “I was tired of choosing the wrong people, losing everything, and ignoring every obligation—I knew I had to do something different,” she recalls.

REAL LIFE’s structure and accountability helped Jordan begin to rebuild. “Being in the house gave me purpose and accountability—things I hadn’t had in a long time.” Even more powerful were the connections she made with other women in the house. “I didn’t realize how much I needed community until I had it again.”

A former special education teacher with a degree in Sports & Exercise Studies, Jordan now works at a Richmond breakfast restaurant and serves as a Peer House Leader at one of our REAL Houses. She graduated from the program in March and is currently focused on paying down fines, saving money, and planning her future. “I’ve been thinking about physical therapy assistant school,” she says. “I want to get back to helping people.”

We’re proud of Jordan’s resilience, leadership, and the bright future she’s building—one step at a time. Way to go, Jordan!
